Coven Party 2k13

shirt by Wildfox (circa 2010)
skirt from American Apparel
cardigan from UO

So as you all (should) know, last night was the premiere of American Horror Story: Coven. It should be clear by now I have a true, undying love for this show and the fact that this season's theme is Coven has made the show even more important to me. I have been so fascinated by witches and witchcraft since I was young. I was a witch every year for Halloween and I was so sure that one day I could become a real witch. Update: it still hasn't happened...YET. So when one of my friends asked if I'd like to do something for premiere night, of course I said yes. I've had my themed outfit picked out for weeks and I decided to make 'coven cookies' with 'blood cocoa' (hot chocolate with red food coloring).

Valentinspo

beanie by Dimepice, pullover by Boy London, shoes by Unif

Sometimes you reach a point where you stop being bitter about love and decide to embrace the adorable heart-shaped everything holiday that is Valentine's day. Of course I don't have a date and won't be spending the day or evening with the boy of my dreams (can you hear me Harry Styles?), but I do have a day full of plans I'm actually excited about. So to all my fellow single ladies: Get out of bed.  Put on your favorite pink dress and red lipstick. Buy yourself a bag of candy hearts and a bottle of pink champagne. Turn on or go see a horror movie (ok this might just be my idea of a perfect Valentine's but if you really think about it, it's quite fitting). Celebrate the fact that you don't have someone tying you down (seriously gals, take a closer look at half the people who are in relationships).

halloweek

-Early meeting at work. (Pullover by Wildfox, beanie from Target)
-Carving pumpkins with my bean.
-Tate and Violet pumpkin.
-Obsessed with my Dimepiece pullover.
-Violet Harmon for Halloween. Halloween wasn't perfect but it wasn't horrible. Either way I miss it already. (Cardigan & shirt & leggings from Target, dress from Free People)
-It was 'wear your costume to work day' in Ashlee world but I made it more Ashlee appropriate.
-Casting call day at work. (Beanie from Target, crop top from American Apparel, skirt by Unif)
-Last minute photo shoot with Paul Beattie. The photos are for a submission so they probably won't be posted any time soon but I think they'll be worth the wait.
-Peppermint mochas are the best part about holiday time. The 'Gwen' skirt is one of the best purchases I've ever made. (Tank top & skirt by Unif)

I hope everyone's week was perfectly spooky.

Halloweek-end

A review of my week (top + from right to left):

-Thrifting for costumes: Jacket, shirt, & shoes by UNIF + jeans from Urban Outfitters.
-Costume shopping part 2 in my: thrifted crushed velvet dress, beanie from Target, shoes by UNIF
-Rediscovered my Betsey Johnson sweater dress after it spent the last 3 years buried in my closet.
-Selfie at work: Dress by Evil Twin, shoes by UNIF.
-Halloween part 1. I'll be posting more photos from my Saturday night on Halloween. Had to save something for the day of. Cliche prom dress from Forever 21, tiara from Previews, blood harvested from every boy who tried to hit on me that night.

I can't believe the best month of the year is almost over. I've been cherishing every second. I'm going to spend the next 2 days carving pumpkins, watching horror movies, and putting the finishing touches on my second costume.

paranormal ramblings + Evan Peters' butt

beanie from Target, shirt by Unif, flannel + jeans from Urban Outfitters

Thursday night I went to see Paranormal Activity 4. I have gone to every movie's first showing (except for the first one because it didn't start playing in my city until after it's original release date no judging). It's probably my favorite horror movie franchise and I'm not even sorry about it. I have a thing for ghosts and demons and stuff ok? Also the fact they throw a really funny (jewish?) boy in every movie that I fall in love with. My only complaint is that the 4th movie just wasn't scary enough. I do like how they tied everything in though. If you're a fan of the series then I suggest you go see it but you're not really missing anything that hasn't already been done. Although I'm kind of glad I took the Kinect out of my room last week.
