Halloweek-end

A review of my week (top + from right to left):

-Thrifting for costumes: Jacket, shirt, & shoes by UNIF + jeans from Urban Outfitters.
-Costume shopping part 2 in my: thrifted crushed velvet dress, beanie from Target, shoes by UNIF
-Rediscovered my Betsey Johnson sweater dress after it spent the last 3 years buried in my closet.
-Selfie at work: Dress by Evil Twin, shoes by UNIF.
-Halloween part 1. I'll be posting more photos from my Saturday night on Halloween. Had to save something for the day of. Cliche prom dress from Forever 21, tiara from Previews, blood harvested from every boy who tried to hit on me that night.

I can't believe the best month of the year is almost over. I've been cherishing every second. I'm going to spend the next 2 days carving pumpkins, watching horror movies, and putting the finishing touches on my second costume.

The Vandelles 'Miles Away' Official Music Video

As you may or may not know a couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with Claude Cardenas of Stagnant Cult on a video that was to be a part of his 'Daydream' series. Video work had been something I wanted to experiment with for a while so when I was given the opportunity of course I was thrilled. The video was finished and released a week later and I was so happy with the outcome. Anyways the video featured a song called 'Miles Away' by the band The Vandelles. Somehow the band came across the video and loved it so much they decided to make it the official video for 'Miles Away' and it was officially released yesterday! It's really crazy to me that this little video that was basically made for fun turned in to an official music video. You can check out The Vandelles here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Vandelles/111519378305?fref=ts. Make sure to hit like and send them all your love!

♡ photo update ♡

These are all from the last 2 weeks or so I believe. I have completely lost track of time because I've had so much happening lately. I really love where my life is going right now. I'm keeping as busy as possible doing what I love while putting all my time and energy toward achieving my goals and I know it will all pay off. This summer will be full of big changes and accomplishments. I finally feel like I'm on the right track.

rainbow sherbet

jacket & pants from Urban Outfitters, crop top from American Apparel, shoes by UNIF, necklaces from my childhood & my mom's jewelry box, pins from Disneyland/thrifted, sunglasses from Previews

After I wash my hair, since it still contains a fair amount of orange, it ends up looking like sherbet and when I wear it in a bun I feel like an ice cream cone. Not necessarily a bad thing. I wore this outfit a couple days ago but I loved it so better late than never. I felt so cute I wore it 2 days in a row (oops). In my defense it was mostly to take advantage of the perfect cold weather. I hate dressing for warm weather. I just really don't like when my arms and legs are visible, weird I know. Anyways I think I've won the universe's worst blogger award. I have a shoot today but afterwards I am coming home and working on a few new posts. I've actually been busy kids, neat huh?

Last night I went to an advanced screening of the movie Brave. It was pretty cute but I definitely don't think it lived up to all the hype it's getting. If you want to have that 'oh my god I miss Disneyland' feel good feeling then it'd probably be worth your money but it ain't no Tangled.

♡photo update♡

So after contemplating it for about 6 months, yesterday I decided to go out and buy a hula hoop. Basically it's my new favorite activity. I've been trying to find new ways to exercise that don't make me feel like I'm exercising and I think I've found my solution. I might try out a hula hooping class over the summer. Next I want to start taking trapeze classes. It's something I've wanted to do forever but never looked in to classes. They're pretty reasonably priced for a weekly class and the place the classes are held at is about an hour away. Super determined to start going, if not over the summer then definitely taking myself for my birthday in September.

♡photo update♡

So ready for the weekend. Spent this week going from red head to pink head. I did a re-bleach and dye last night to get rid of some of the orange left in my bangs and it was a success so new pictures soon. Currently trying to decide on an outfit. I'm so bored with my wardrobe and I always feel like I'm wearing the same thing over and over. Anyways here's an update!

♡recently: photo update♡

Had a lazy whatever day today. Lots of coffee, bubble gum, and magazines in bed. I was going to make another video for you guys but I wasn't feelin it so expect one tomorrow! Here's something new I plan on doing every week, my week through photos. I figure it's the best way to catch everyone up on what I've been up to! Also I apologize for the lack of updates lately. I've been feeling so uninspired, which is the absolute worst.

♡ weekend review + recently acquired ♡

Photography by Danny Fung & make up/hair/styling by me

shirt: American Apparel, shorts: Forever 21, belt: Target

A couple shots from the photo shoot I did with Danny Fung on Friday. Danny and I always have a great time shooting together and he is definitely one of my favorite Sacramento photographers. His use of natural light is amazing! Check out more of his work here: www.dannyfungphotography.com! I'll be posting more from our shoot together this week. We're also currently in the process of putting together an underwater mermaid photo shoot which I could not be more thrilled about. Please ignore the massive amount of roots on my head, I'm letting my hair fade/grow out as much as possible before I dye it pink. To be honest though I've always liked the grown out roots look.

my weekend in hell

shirt: Unif/my best friend's closet, flannel & shorts: Urban, belt: Target, sunglasses: Previews (This store in downtown Sacramento that's half costume shop, half thrift store, I always find the best stuff there.) I also had on creepers but I didn't get any full body pictures.

My weekend was super uneventful which is almost never the case. This is what I wore Sunday out to lunch for my best friend's birthday. I have been so excited over those glasses ever since I bought them. Neon and cat eye heaven. Forever channeling Rose McGowan in Doom Generation (which I still haven't watched but am obsessed with her look any way). Me and my two best friends each have this shirt but mine is no longer in my possession. I won't go in to detail as to why I don't have it because it's a really frustrating situation but it's been missing for nearly a year and I miss it. This is one of my favorite shirts ever so whenever my friend lets me borrow his I wear the crap out of it. Which is why I ended up wearing it on Saturday too.

spooky mermaid

flower crown made by me, dress: American Apparel, jacket & shoes: Urban Outfitters, studded bracelet: thrifted, pins: Disneyland/thrifted

Living life like a Disney princess. This dress is probably one of my all time favorite pieces. Every time I wear it I feel like a princess. Just looking at it gives me a ton of inspiration so I've had it hanging up in my room where I can always see it. Pastels make my heart swoon. Today I finally bought the shoes of my dreams. I have been drooling over them for months now and I scored them for 50% off. A match made in heaven. Kept walking past mirrors and almost cried every time I saw them on my feet. I don't remember the last time I was this excited over a pair of shoes. Also picked up Pink Tea and Full of Joy blushes from MAC's new Tres Cheek collection. Possibly going to do a separate post about those later if anyone's interested? I'm really diggin experimenting with blushes right now.
